Day Sunday filled with kids' fun
If you enjoy having fun and learning more about
saving the earth's resources, St. Louis Earth
Day is for you. The event will be in Forest
Park on Sunday, April 25.

Eleven-year-old Espen Conley was surprised
that the Lewis&Clark crew included two
flute players. Ten-year-old Michelle Harris
noted how little food the crew packed for
the two-year wilderness trip.
Art Kids
try to picture their personalities with

The St. Louis Art Museum's Rites of Passage
program helps kids use art to reflect on
changes in their lives. This year, the art
forms they used were from the Osage Indians.

Eighth grader Ida Bidson wants to become
a teacher, but her dream falters when the
one-room school in her town shuts down.
Can Ida become the new teacher and keep
the school open without anyone finding out?

& Clark Kids'
drama features Lewis&Clark women
Five seventh grader girls at LaSalle Springs
Middle School decided to try a new angle for
their Lewis&Clark history project. They
researched, wrote and performed an original
drama on the role of women in the 1804-06
exploration.
History Holy
Infant kids win at History Day
Sara Brightman, Sean Flanagan and Kyle Nealon
admit they don't have a lot of interest in
history. But, that didn't keep the seventh
graders from winning in the recent St. Louis
region's History Day competitions.
Music Wendy
Wang likes piano and violin
Thirteen-year-old Wendy Wang started piano
lessons when she was four. She still takes
piano lessons but she's starting to like her
violin better.
Chess Wydown
just misses state chess title
Wydown Middle School's 8th grade chess team
just missed capturing the Missouri state chess
title. But, they did get their long-time coach
back from military duty in the Middle East
war theater.
