George wins Laclede Kids concert prize
Eleven-year-old Nicholas
George was the grand prize winner in the annual
Laclede Quartet's Kids Concert competition.
His younger sister, Anna, also was one of
the kids who played in the March 11 concert.

Thirteen-year-old Emily Hall decided
to do her Missouri History Day project on former
slave Dred Scott's court fight for freedom.
She said, "I didn't know much about him and
I didn't even know about the special competition
category for him." |

The Affton Americans Bantam B boys hockey team
capped off a successful 2006-07 season by winning
a title in a large regional tournament in Cincinnati,
Ohio. |

Ms. Math Mania has yet
another unique set of puzzles for April. These
answers don't require any number calculations.
Rather, you solve the first four problems by
putting marks in the small boxes to satisfy
the instructions.
Nine
kids got all March Math Mania puzzlers
correct
Nine of the kids who entered the March
Math Mania "order of operations"
contest got all six puzzlers correct. That's
a pretty good showing when considering this
was the first time Ms. Math Mania
had used this particular format.
