Visual Problem Solving skills
for April Math Mania

Ms. Math Mania has yet another unique set of puzzles for April. These answers don't require any number calculations. Rather, you solve the first three problems by putting marks in the small boxes to satisfy the instructions.

And the 4th puzzle is something all together different. In Puzzle 4, you need to draw a 4th box with three Xs so it's in the same relationship to the 3rd box, as the first two boxes are to each other. (The secret to this answer is to make sure you know how the 1st and 2nd boxes relate to each other.)

You remember Ms Math Mania is Ms. Amy Ruzicka, a math teacher at St. Gabriel's School in south St. Louis City. She's back in her classroom after completing her maternity leave to care for her first baby.

Two things to remember about your April entries: (1) Read and follow carefully the contest instructions and (2) print your name and address on the entry form. Young Saint Louis.com would hate to have to pass over your entry just because we couldn't decipher your name.

For the names of winners and complete answers to the March puzzles, click here.

Rules for the April Math Mania contest entries continue the same. Each month, the contest calls for you to give answers to brainteasers based on numbers and math.

When submitting entries, print out the form attached to the April questions. If you answer all the questions correctly, you'll have a chance to win a $10 Borders book certificate.

Remember, Fill out entry form carefully, including your name and home address. This is important so Young Saint Louis.com knows where to send the prize if you're a winner.
