13-year-old does 100-mile bike ride
Hallie Johnson of Edwardsville was just 13 when
she completed the 100-mile Ride the Rivers Century
Bicycle Ride in October. That was nearly three
times as far as she'd ever ridden before in
one day. |

Park school wins national designation
Sacred Heart Catholic School kids have won
the 2007-08 President's Challenge Physical
Activity and Fitness Award. That's pretty
good for a school that doesn't yet have a
gym for PE.

ancient Korean king who ends up in a present
day kid's bedroom, (3) a girl who hates the

wealthy young man and his polo pony |

Some of the science class sessions
at Mullanphy ILC Elementary last month looked
more like play exercises. But, they were really
lessons on how to conduct science experiments.

advances in violin competition
Next month, 14-year-old Jecoliah Wang will
represent Missouri in the Music Teachers Association's
regional violin competition. She is the state's
sole entrant in the 11-14 junior competition.

questions. There's something appropriate
for the holiday season.
