Winning
movie helps teach character
Two kid movie-making teams at Willow
Brook Elementary School have won firsts in
the 2006 Show Me A Movie competition. One
of the movies already has been used in explaining
the school's character-building program to
students.

schools have winning movie teams
Twelve teams from eight different
schools had winning teams in the 2006 Show
Me A Movie competition sponsored by the Cooperating
School Districts organization. Four schools
had two winners apiece.

90 this month. But, he continues to work at
his laboratory and manufacturing plant in St.

study stream erosion in high-speed
Eighth grade kids from Maplewood/Richmond
Heights Middle School have been studying the
watershed of nearby Deer Creek. Last month,
they got to simulate at high speed the erosion
potential of the stream. |

of (1) a stray dog's life, (2) a girl who
learns to be supportive in her best friend's
grief, (3) kids trying to survive in a tsunami,
and (4) two girls who help free the ghost
of a young girl from continuing to haunt the
house in which she died.

to physical exercise. She admits she previously
had been a bit of a "couch potato."
