Kid's WWII documentary in 2006 Filmmakers Showcase

Fourteen-year-old Max Sommers' WWII documentary has been selected for showing at the 2006 St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase this month. In addition, three short films from St. Margaret of Scotland school kids also will be shown.

Kid filmmakers from St. Margaret of Scotland School are back in the 2006 St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase festival. Three short films have been selected for the festival that runs July 23-26.

NBA player's clinic attracts 100 kids
Kids didn't have too much trouble locating the host of the Loren Woods basketball clinic last month. He was the 7-footer towering above the 100 kids on the Cardinal Ritter basketball court.

Wetland mentoring
Mascoutah kids mentor younger kids on wetlands
In May, Mascoutah (Ill.) High School's Science Club members got to explain the science of Forest Park wetlands to 60 elementary school kids. But, first the high schoolers had to learn some of those lessons themselves.

Kids have fun at Family Fishing Day
Amber and John Pyeatt came all the way from Bonne Terre to attend the first KMOX Family Fishing Day at Suson Park. They didn't win any prizes but the day was sunny and most of the kids had fun.

Kids in the Hudson School Garden Club do more than plant seeds and harvest crops. They also learn how seeds work and train plants to grow in unusual topiary shapes.

Intisar Faulkner's coming trip to Africa
Sixth-grader Intisar Faulkner will be in Las Vegas this month to participate in a national dance competition. But, next year, she'll be on her first overseas trip to Africa.
