Wolf Sanctuary schedules two July camps

Two Junior Keeper camps for St. Louis area kids interested in wildlife preservation are set for July.

Dates for the two camps for kids 10-13 are July 8-11 and July 22-25. They will be held at the Wild Canid Center near Eureka. This center is best-known as the Wolf Sanctuary.

Space in the camps is limited and reservations are required. The fee of $100 includes snacks, hands-on projects and a graduation picnic for both campers and parents.

For information and reservations, call (636) 938-5900.

The Junior Keeper program helps kids get to know more about endangered wildlife species. The Wolf Sanctuary is helping wolves and other canids make a comeback in the wild.

Although the camp will have hands-on projects, there won't be any actual contact by kids with the wolves. After all, these animals aren't tame. They are being cared for in order to release them back into the wild.

For more information about Sanctuary's Junior Keeper and Junior Rendezvous (for younger kids) programs, log on to www.wolfsanctuary.org.
