Last Math Mania for 2006-07
The "Telephone Code" puzzles are back
The
Math Mania puzzles for May are another series
of "telephone code" words. That is the unique puzzle form
introduced last December, 2006.
This set of puzzles will be the last for the 2006-07 school
year. Ms. Math Mania, teacher Amy Ruzicka, is
going to take a summer vacation like you will in June, July
and August.
Before trying to solve the May puzzles, be sure to look
up the December, 2006, issue of Young Saint Louis.com.
Go to the Math Mania section and read the description
on how to figure the "telephone code" answers. (To find
the issue, go to Past
Stories at the top of the home page and then click
on December,
2006. Then, come back to do the May puzzles.)
Before trying the May puzzles, you might like to check out
the answers for the April Math Mania. Those
questions involved "visual problem solving." For the names
of winners and complete answers to the April puzzles, click
here.
Rules for the May Math Mania contest entries
continue the same. Each month, the contest calls for you to
give answers to brainteasers based on numbers and math.
When submitting entries, print out the form attached to the
May questions. If you answer all the questions correctly,
you'll have a chance to win a $10 Borders book certificate.
Remember, fill out entry form carefully, including your name
and home address. This is important so Young Saint Louis.com
knows where to send the prize if you're a winner.
