May questions

Last Math Mania for 2007-08 school year

Ms. Math Mania Amy Ruzicka is going on summer vacation just like St. Louis area school students. Thus, these Math Mania questions will be the final ones for the 2007-08 school year.

These final questions call for you to use a series of clues to figure out "mystery number" for each puzzle.

Ms. Ruzicka suggests that you brush up on your math vocabulary and review divisibility rules. She suggests you might like to think of several possible answers.

But, before you narrow your answers, make sure that number is supported by all of the clues. If one of the clues doesn't fit, it's likely you haven't got the correct number.

When you've got your answers, fill out the attached entry form. Make sure you fill in an answer for each of the five puzzles.

As with the other puzzles for this school year, YSL.com checks all entries to see if anyone gets them all correct. Depending on how many entries are all correct, YSL.com will award up to five $10 Borders gift certificates.

The Math Mania competition is open to kids 8 to 13 years of age from the metro area.

In the June edition of YSL.com, we'll publish the May answers along with the names of any kids who got all the answers correct.

How to enter:

  1. Print out the following entry form.
  2. Fill out your name, address and telephone number.
  3. Answer all five of the May Logic Puzzles.
  4. Put your completed entry into a stamped, addressed evvelope.
