Ten metro-area youngsters have been named as 2007 Gateway Young Achievers. The awards go to elementary, middle and high school students who have outstanding achievements in academics, sports, the arts, church and community service.

Area students have folk tales ready

Shaun Miller and Darryl Marks of Mullanphy School in St. Louis have their folk tales ready for performances at the St. Louis Storytelling Festival, May 2-5.

Girls Inc. has openings at 8-week summer camp
Girls Inc. still has some openings left for St. Louis area girls in its 8-week summer camp sessions. Summer camp runs five days a week, starting June 11 and running through August 3.

Math Mania
The "Telephone Code" puzzles are back
The Math Mania puzzles for May are another series of "telephone code" words. That is the unique puzzle form introduced last December, 2006.

Two winners in April Math Mania "visual" puzzlers
Two kids got all the "visual problem solving" questions correct in the April Math Mania contest. Making sure there were no double marks in the diagonals of the visuals turned out to be difficult for many.
