On Saturday, Sept. 13, 9-year-old Julianna Crang and her dad got to ride what was supposed to be the same route pro racers would use on the final day of the 2008 Tour of Missouri road race. That's before remnants of Hurricane Ike hit St. Louis.

The remnants of Hurricane Ike last month cut short 11-year-old Keenan Peel's bid to run a half-marathon. But, he still raised a bunch of money for cancer research.

The NCAA has announced its program for the 2009 Women's Final Four women's basketball tournament next April in St. Louis. Kids' activities actually will start this semester with Middle School Madness and the Junior Sportswriter programs.
